Engagement Officer

 

Accountable to:           Funding and Quality Assurance Manager

Working Hours:           Part time – 22.5 hours per week

Working Days:            Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Start Time                    9.00am

Salary:                         £15.02 per hour

Work Location:            In person

A full driving licence with access to a car with business insurance is essential for the role.

A specialist domestic violence service provider is seeking to recruit a dedicated Engagement Officer who will play a key role in raising awareness of domestic abuse and addressing the unique challenges faced by Black and Minoritised Women and Girls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training and Awareness: Deliver training sessions to professionals including schools, colleges, and community organisations, on recognising, responding to, and preventing domestic abuse.
  • Cultural Competence: Support the development of a culturally responsive approaches to domestic abuse within local services.
  • Networking and Collaboration: Establish and maintain networks to foster collaboration between stakeholders, ensuring more effective support for Black and Minoritised survivors.
  • Representation: Represent the organisation at relevant forums, working groups, and meetings advocating on issues relating to domestic abuse in Black and Minoritised Women and Girls.
  • Outreach and Engagement: Organise and lead outreach initiatives to raise awareness of domestic abuse, its indicators, and the support services available.
  • Community Partnerships: Build strong relationships with community leaders, local organisations, and faith groups to enhance awareness and access support services.
  • Specialist Support: Work in partnership with services to increase awareness and support for survivors of domestic abuse, forced marriage, honour based violence, and female genital mutilation – ultimately equipping women and girls with the knowledge and confidence they need to seek help. This approach leads to increased referrals and supports long-term, positive recovery outcomes
