Engagement Officer

Accountable to: Funding and Quality Assurance Manager

Working Hours: Part time – 22.5 hours per week

Working Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Start Time 9.00am

Salary: £15.02 per hour

A specialist domestic violence service provider is seeking to recruit a dedicated Engagement Officer who will play a key role in raising awareness of domestic abuse and addressing the unique challenges faced by Black and Minoritised Women and Girls.

Key Responsibilities:

Training and Awareness: Deliver training sessions to professionals including schools, colleges, and community organisations, on recognising, responding to, and preventing domestic abuse.
Cultural Competence: Support the development of a culturally responsive approaches to domestic abuse within local services.
Networking and Collaboration: Establish and maintain networks to foster collaboration between stakeholders, ensuring more effective support for Black and Minoritised survivors.
Representation: Represent the organisation at relevant forums, working groups, and meetings advocating on issues relating to domestic abuse in Black and Minoritised Women and Girls.
Outreach and Engagement: Organise and lead outreach initiatives to raise awareness of domestic abuse, its indicators, and the support services available.
Community Partnerships: Build strong relationships with community leaders, local organisations, and faith groups to enhance awareness and access support services.
Specialist Support: Work in partnership with services to increase awareness and support for survivors of domestic abuse, forced marriage, honour based violence, and female genital mutilation – ultimately equipping women and girls with the knowledge and confidence they need to seek help. This approach leads to increased referrals and supports long-term, positive recovery outcomes

Refuge Commercial Cleaner

Accountable to: The Manager

Working Hours: Part time – 16 hours per week

Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Start Time: Between 8.30am and 9.00am – Finish time, between 12.30pm and 1.00pm

Salary: £12.65 per hour

A specialist domestic abuse service provider is seeking a professional cleaner with integrity and attention to detail to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in our 15-bedroom women’s refuge.

Key Responsibilities:

The role requires working across three sites; therefore, access to a car with business insurance is essential.

Carry out general cleaning duties across three sites (refuge, dispersed unit, and office).
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in communal areas, offices, bathrooms, residents’ bedrooms, and kitchens.
Provide laundry support, including washing, drying, and organising as required.
Ensure cleaning materials are used safely and stored securely in line with health and safety procedures.
Monitor stock levels of cleaning supplies and report shortages to management.
Work flexibly across different sites, ensuring consistency in standards of cleanliness.
Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, and organisational policies at all times.
Report any maintenance, health, or safety concerns promptly to the relevant manager.

Requirements

Access to a vehicle with Business Insurance

Proven experience as a cleaner
Advance knowledge of cleaning products, implements and practices
Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
Customer-oriented and friendly
Willingness to maintain confidentiality
